although i can read the german language well, my writing is bad. so i do it in english hopefully everybody understand it. i was looking for sites of "wattwalking" and so i became on this side were people write of the fun of walking barefoot.and yes i agreed with that. 25 years ago i was on terschelling,when the tide was low, i was watching this beautiful landscape and i decided to take off my shoes and socks and take a walk, i never forget the feeling when i sank kneedeep and feel the mud between my toes.it was great. since then every year i visit the dutch islands. but in holland it`s not usual to walk barefoot on the "watt",even on hot sommerdays people walk with rubber boots. by guidetours it`s not allowed to walk barefoot, you must wear baseball shoes and socks. i went with several tours because it`s always a beautiful place to be, but with shoes on you have the feeling that it`s not the ultimate experience.last summer i was for the first time on the german island borkum and of course i made a "wattwalking', to my surprise everybody even the guide was barefooted,the guide told me that you must feel the whole nature in your body,and with 30 degrees in was a very pleasant tour.2 hours walking barefoot and watch this beautiful landscape, so next summer when i go "wattwalking" i certainly come back to north germany,they know how it is to be one with the nature. maybe somebody can tell me where the best places are for a great "wattwalk"
